From the overbearing boss dept. continued…

We usher in another week of Champions League football which means that mid-week work productivity will be next to nil and another Steaua Bucharest coach will likely lose his job. During the first matchday a couple weeks ago it was the Romanian legend Ghorghe Hagi who was given the mandate to play the players the club’s owner Gigi Becali wanted played or lose his job. Steaua lost the match and Hagi packed his bags immediately afterwards.
Matchday two is interim manager Massimo Pedrazzini’s turn to try to live up to Becali’s ridiculous standards. “If we lose tomorrow, Pedrazzini will be sacked,” said Becali on Monday, ignoring the fact that his club is facing an in-form Arsenal side and the fact that Pedrazzini has guided his team to a pair of victories in Romania.
Pedrazzini believes he has done all he can at Steaua to date, and claims even former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would struggle if handed the post.
He said: ‘Becali should bring Mourinho at Steaua, because he is free too.
‘Becali should say to Mourinho: `You are coach of Steaua, you have three matches. You win them, you stay. You lose one of them, you go’.
‘And he also should tell him that one of these matches is against Arsenal. Even Mourinho would have big problems. Nobody can perform miracles.’
While it might be hard to imagine Mourinho working for a crazy owner….well….not that hard, but I’d pay to see it. In fact, throughout this Champions League campaign I think Steaua should line up a series of guest managers. Mourinho could take charge until he loses only to be replaced by Marcello Lippi until he loses only to be replaced by Jurgen Klinsmann and so on and so on.
