He's not growing any younger, and to be able to compete at the highest level in the EPL, it seems increasingly evident that you need to have extremely fresh legs. Not to say that he can't go abroad and do well, but a man of his stature deserves to play for a huge club, and I don't know how important he will be in the overcrowded midfields of the Big Three. [Of course, looking at what Fergie did with the Godly Henrik Larsson last year, anything is more than possible.] On the other hand, if he went to an upper-mid table club like Everton or Villa, he'd have the chance to contribute positively, and they are still the sort of teams and fan bases that would appreciate his spirit and committment.
