I think Roswitha's assessment is a fair one. If he goes it will be to a club like Tottenham or Newcastle.

But why go to Newcastle or Tottenham when you can stay at Milan?

Ferguson would have loved this deal two years back...or even last year...but with the emergence of Anderson and Owen Hargreaves already being there (although playing caattttenacccio at right back this season end!)..there is simply no room for Rino(they have Scholes and Carrick too)..two spots in the midfield..4 players is more than enough..he cannot sell them also..all of them (except scholes) have been bought for close to 15m pounds....As much as I would not like it, I think Arsene needs to buy him straight...for once he should ditch his instincts with young players...that team would and should have won the league had they had some experience somewhere on the pitch..

I hope he doesn't leave Milan/Serie A, and if he absolutely must then I hope he is a fabulous success wherever he goes, but I'm having trouble imagining him in the Premier League, where pace and oragnisation are growing in importance practically every season. He's not growing any younger, and to be able to compete at the highest level in the EPL, it seems increasingly evident that you need to have extremely fresh legs.

Not to say that he can't go abroad and do well, but a man of his stature deserves to play for a huge club, and I don't know how important he will be in the overcrowded midfields of the Big Three. [Of course, looking at what Fergie did with the Godly Henrik Larsson last year, anything is more than possible.]

On the other hand, if he went to an upper-mid table club like Everton or Villa, he'd have the chance to contribute positively, and they are still the sort of teams and fan bases that would appreciate his spirit and committment.

So I don't know what I want. No, actually I do. I want him to stay in Milan.

But it's about caps. I think the only guys in their age bracket even close are DDR, Barzagli and, gulp, Gila.

NO way Barzagli captains the Azzurri. He's one of the softest players I've ever seen mentally.

I'd love to watch him play for Arsenal and I think a player of his calibre would make a great fit.

If Rino mio were to go anywhere, I'd hope it to be Utd, since they are my second favorite club after Milan...
But hopefully he does not leave.
