Giddyup, It’s Horse Soccer!

“He’s a great soccer player because he throws himself into it. He’s so great because he has all of the skills. He side-passes. He backs. He goes forward. He listens to the rider.” Those are the words used to describe Thunder, a 6-year-old quarter and working cow horse, who likely will be targeted by Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Elmer’s Glue once the word spreads about his mad skills.

While the closest most of us have come to seeing a horse play soccer is the occasional Real Madrid and Netherlands match, the up and coming sport of Horse Soccer has been captivating the American heartland.

Those who partake in this nascent activity claim that it has the same affect as a self-help book for humans, helping horses to build their confidence and to become more sociable. I think you’ll all agree that there is nothing worse than an anti-social horse.

Here is a video of what is sure to become the next Olympic sport. Who’s up for a game? Winner gets to spend the rest of the day being a stud.
