And by the way, the reason the second NY team gets press is because it has a serious owner.

they should relocate RSL to Portland or Seattle; expand another team to the city who didnt get RSL, and then give franchises to Philadelphia and St. Louis. I would love to see KC moved to some place like St. Louis, but thats not happening with it being a Lamar Hunt team...even under new ownership im sure they wouldnt move it.

I would like teams in Vancouver and Montreal, but I would imagine that places like Seattle, Portland, Philly, and St. Louis fit better in logistically when it comes to travel...and the same reason why the MLS is not trying to expand into the Southern states...including another Miami foray. + its too freaking hot down there.

FWIW - I feel the odds are for San Diego to get an MLS team before Las Vegas does. Albeit not very soon for either as there are equal parts diversions, diversions and other, in both cities.

However, wasn't the Chivas USA team's original plan to eventually move to San Diego? Maybe it was just a rumor.

1. Philadelphia
2. Montreal
3. Phoenix or Miami

Philadelphia is the best of the untapped US sports markets. I agree that given the success (and by that I mean support) of TFC, Canada is a very attractive place to look. Third, the league needs regional coverage in either Florida or the Southwest, and I would be happy with either. As much as I would love to see a Portland MLS side (I'd be a season ticket holder from day uno), unless the league considers promotion rather than just starting new teams, I can't see it happening. MLS Timbers would be great, though.

MLS should expand where there is passion and tradition first! Anyone who watched the Portland v Vancouver game on FSC last Sunday saw and heard the reason Portland should be next in line. You can't buy passion and you can't build a tradition with a heartless SSS out in some suburb. MLS in downtown Portland would create an English football atmosphere, which what MLS really needs.

The thing with the Pacific Northwest is that it would be a crying shame and be a significant blow to USL if either Seattle, Portland, or Vancouver went to MLS with out the other 3. These teams rivalries and proximity are integral to their survival; lose one city to MLS, and you might lose the other 2 as well.

A Pacific Northwest team would be an excellent idea, we definitely have the market for it. Seattle would be my choice but I'm not convinced the city can get their act together for it...I wouldn't mind Vancouver either, that's a nice trip and another Canadian team would probably be a good thing.

I think canada certainly deserves another team with the support we've seen in Toronto. My list would look like this:

1. Philadelphia
2. Montreal (Create the Toronto-Montreal rivalry)
3. Las Vegas (Why not)
4. Phoenix
5. St Louis (Just move the Wizards there...)
6. Vancouver
7. Seattle
8. Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte, (Must have a southeastern presence)
