I know this is no time for an Ajax supporter to talk smack about an ex-PSV man without sounding like he's gloating, but did Tottenham really expect any different? Did they scout Gomes or just buy him after one or two stellar perfomances? Anybody who watched the eredivisie already knew his low goals-against was due to PSVs backline and certainly not his consistency and dependability.

Olympiacos. AEK would've had it if poor little Apollon Kalamarias's win had stood, and lo, there was drama.

I don't think so, Brian. It's very rare (since few clubs want a player they just sold back, and very few players want to re-join a club that just gave them the boot), but I doubt the league could bar Robinson from re-joining Tottenham, since it would effectively amount to the same (except registration-wise) as if Robinson had simply been loaned for half a season.

There is a rule against a player playing for three clubs in 12 months though, as a greek side found out last season to give Pana (or AEK, or Olympiakos) the title in the courts by having a surprise win overturned.

Well, if you're talking about Robinson coming back, isn't it against the rules for someone to rejoin a team within a year?

I felt sorry for Gomes for the first time, after seeing his expression after that mistake. But Rob is right, he did do a couple of fantastic saves.

He made two fantastic saves as well the poor soul. He seems to have constant lunacy peppered with occasional genius.
