Boy that new Northern Ireland five pound bank note sure is big. Time to get a new wallet. The man holding the oversized currency is Dickie Best, father of the legendary late footballer George Best, who is being honored in his homeland by having his likeness plastered on a limited edition bank note that will be available in November. At times like this it is always helpful to be reminded of Best’s own financial management strategy, “I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered,” he once famously said.
