Hey, Italy’s Got A New Stadium
By: The Offside | September 6th, 2011It feels like Stadio Juve or Juventus Stadium, Arena or whatever the hell it’s to be called – name TBD – has been decades in the works, and this week it will open as one of, finally, Italy’s brand new digs. It’s nice, but for Italy it might be the equivalent of waltzing an iPod into a 20’s night club – everybody look at that! – what with this being the second new stadium on the boot in quite some time. (The voting results deciding the Euro 2016 host nod silently.)
The stadium itself gets opened on Thursday in a friendly against Notts County, in which they’re likely to make a bigger deal about the shirt-swapping than ever seen in the history of football. Here’s another interview about it, starring Jesus Christ.
