How Not to Interview a Footballer

By: Daryl | July 18th, 2008

This incredible interview was sent to us by Unprofessional Foul. As you may know, ex-Norwich City player Darren Huckerby has recently signed for San Jose Earthquakes. Could be worse, lots of sun, etc.

Only downside for Darren (or “Derek”, if you’re too lazy to remember your guest’s name) is that he has to be interviewed by this guy Gary from local San Jose station KRON. And did you know Huckerby was a legend up there with Pele who scored the greatest goal of all time? It says so on the internet.

In other news, some dude named “Rolandinho” has signed for AC Milan. If you have a couch near your computer, watch this video from behind it.

Gary Radnich has been a bay area legend for centuries. Sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing.

This...This can't be for real, can it? Hey, Chelsea just made a big bid for one of our players. Golden ball winner and all...Goes by the name of Kuku'. I don't suppose you've ever heard of him?

Kudos to Huckerby for taking it in stride though. Quite the nice goal that was too.

    Steve,

What's wrong with the interview? Well, I'd say about 4:10 of the 4:27. Norfolk? Northeast? Legend? Greatest Goal Ever?

So tongue-in-cheek means that you don't have to do any fact checking? Ah, I should have been a sports journalist.

That was painful, mate. Plain and simple.

Have to say "Rolandinho" was just icing on the cake.

does he make a living off sounding like an idiot? Is that his "niche?" Why not just do the research, tell it like it is and try not to make a mockery of the sport and the player involved.

What's wrong with the interview? KRON's audience has no idea who he is and Radnich always does a good job making local sports seem more important than it actually is. It's all tongue-in-cheek. And it's not a San Jose station, it's in San Francisco
