Internet Users to manage Israeli Soccer Team
By: Bob | October 18th, 2007
Think back to the old days before something called cyberspace existed. We went to a travel agent to do our vacation planning, we did our research in a library, we bought our porn from the pimply faced kid at the convenience store down the street, and sixth division soccer teams in Israel were managed by a guy on the sideline who presumably was licensed to coach.
Simple times those were, but in modern society it is all about progress and that means using technology to control everything in life, including a sixth division soccer team in Israel.
Hapoel Play65 Kiriat Shalom from Tel Aviv, who plays in the 6th Israeli Division has decided to fire the coach, and from today the manager will beā¦the internet surfers! For the first time in the world, the surfers will decide who will play, what will be the squad, who will be the replacements, how the team will play, in what formation, who will shoot the free kicks, penalties, and who will be the player of the match.
The games will be broadcasted online on the web site, and the surfers can decide during the games about all the above subjects, And a contact person from the team on the filed will do it.
Sounds like a perfect plan. Think of all the ways we could use the power of the Internet to improve the team. We could send an email to one of the players telling him he needs to buy Viagra. Or we could ask the players to help out of jailed cousins in Nigeria by depositing money into our bank accounts. Or we could launch a denial of service attack on the opposition. The possibilities are endless, people. This is truly the Golden Age.
