Is There Anything Left For Freddy Adu?

By: Martha | November 27th, 2007

What’s left for Freddy Adu? The boy’s moved to Europe, played for his full national team, was the youngest American ever to play in a Champions League match, and is on a super-sub scoring tear for Benfica. And, now, Jay-Z is rapping about him (the lyric in question — “And then I bid you Freddy Adu/Prodigal Child, y’all not ready for the future” — is about two minutes into the video). And he’s not even 20! Really, there’s nowhere to go but down, poor kid.

lets just hope Freddy doesn't start rapping.

Damn, John beat me to the Jedi Mind Tricks lyrics about him.

There's also some videos on youtube of Freddy talking smack and wanting to challenge Kobe Bryant to a basketball game and a soccer game. Kobe seems like he's down, so I dunno why they haven't played yet (or maybe they have).
  • Seriously, John? Nice! So this whole rap lyric thing is old hat to him, huh?

A couple years back, Gza from Wu-Tang guested on a Jedi Mind Tricks tracks and paid homage to Freddy Adu with this verse:

Who performed well regardless to the price of the ticket,
Off or on stage whatever still kickin'-
With the footwork of Freddy Adu, its all new,
Now the rap commissioners, they wanna clone my shoe.
