As long as he doesn’t go through with actually spilling the names then I think there’s nothing terrible about what he’s doing, trying to get people to understand how things really are. Part of me wants to hope it would change some attitudes.

Some good comments above. The only scandal in this is that people have to hide who they are, how they feel, because they play football. Rob said it well, it only makes sense that there are homosexuals in professional footy. It’s time for the fans and society to accept that fact.

What bothers me about this whole thing (outside of prostitution, I think it’s a terrible trade, I don’t care about the whole “The money’s good” excuse), is why this man feels the need to destroy the lives of the people involved. It only goes to show that this man is the worst type of scum around. There is absolutely no reason (outside of his own financial gain) for him to do the harm that he is going to inflict on lots of families. And I have no problem with peoples sexuality. It’s no different than a person born being a right-handed person or left.

Agreed, Rob. I think it’s shameful that anyone, footballer or not, has to live a lie.

And while I know that if you like sex a certain way and have to hide it in your daily existence, paying for sex might seem to be the only option, I also think it’s extremely foolish. If you’re paying someone for sex, they’re probably not going to be the most discrete person around. Especially when there’s money on the table. (See: Ronaldo and the transsexual hookers. Or the other Ronaldo and pretty much every hooker ever.)
