Seems there was a genuine compromise made here, which is impressive in itself. Players get better terms, MLS keeps single entity. Each side gets some of what they wanted, and the US gets to have a functioning soccer league in an important World Cup year.

In my opinion they should have waited till August to get on track with the euro season. that bullshit about the weather in America is to extreme to play soccer in, is a load of crap.England has a similar climate to the northern us and plays fine in the winter.
don't get me wrong the MLS is the best that the us can do right now but this whole single entity shit is sooo lame and is never going to work if you want soccer to succeed in the us. the mls needs to take example from Europe.

an the addition of a few more European and south American players to bring the intensity of the league up wouldnt hurt.

Glad to see it got sorted. The last thing we need in the middle of trying to grow the sport in the US is for the league to shut down for a season, or at the very least lose its few stars. I don't have a team in the MLS until next season, when the Timbers enter the fray, but it's good for the game in this country overall that things got worked out.

The facts are the players forced some concessions, and made some improvements, labor agreements improve over time, and as the league grows the deal will improve. There always has to be players that pave the way for future generations, look at any other American profesional sports league.

Fantastic.... we can have another year of soccer... with forced mediocrity. Don't get me wrong mediocrity is better than nothing.

Re-entry draft? What a joke.

MLS shoved the single-entity thing down everyone's throats in name of financial stability, now it's just doing it because it has more control that way.

Hooray! I was looking at that big green box of season ticket stuff and really worried that I wouldn't be able to use it.

This must be such a load off the players' minds.
