Javier Umbides Knows His Swerve

By: The Offside | February 4th, 2013

There is a well-documented history of playing the ball from near the half into the opposition’s goal, and with it comes a sort of feeling that it’s typically done so from the center of the pitch, or at least with a ball that has no swerve in it. It’s been done, but doing so with a ball moving laterally is far more rare. Javier Umbides did so for Orduspor this weekend, which means he should get two cookies instead of the normal one they hand out for this sort of thing.
