For some imitation is the highest form of flattery. For Hull City’s Jimmy Bullard it’s just another brilliant addition to his growing body of work. For under fire manager Phil Brown, it’ll also be a welcome reminder that his relationship with the team is still intact and his campy coaching outbursts not forgotten.

Two hundred million British Pounds ago Manchester City were fooling around in the bottom half of the table, while Hull City enjoyed an impressive start to their maiden Premier League season up in the Europe League spots. But things went horribly wrong for Hull on their Boxing Day trip to the Eastlands. By half-time Manchester City were four unanswered goals up, which triggered Hull manager Phil Brown’s ridiculous half-time teamtalk outside on the pitch in front of Hull’s traveling support. No such desperate measures were needed this time around. A late penalty converted by Jimmy Bullard earned Hull a creditable point and gave Bullard the opportunity to recreate his manager’s infamous 15 minutes. Credit has to go to his team mate Paul McShane who had the original idea.

Jimmy Bullard

Other Premier League players will find it difficult to top that this season, so maybe Jimmy Bullard will have to do it himself. You may want to earmark December 27th, when Hull City host Manchester United. Just in case.
