Joost Volmer Shows Emmanuel Adebayor How To Throw A Proper Elbow

By: The Offside | December 22nd, 2008

Big controversy in the weekend’s big Prem game. Emmanuel Adebayor, sitting on a yellow, lazily flailed his arm (6:40 above), which graced Alvaro Arebloa, who then reacted as though he’d been kicked in the face by Jet Li – or knifed, as is Emmanuel’s interpretation. Cue second yellow/red card and thus a bit of controversy.

Where there wasn’t any controversy, however, was in the Netherlands, where Joost Volmer of De Graafschap threw an elbow with such perfect form and intent Chuck Norris must be blushing. Landed, too, on Dario Cvitanich’s face. (Vid post jump.) Cue straight red. Joost must be a fan, as this is his second straight red in three games (with a suspension in between, of course). Maybe Vinnie Jones needs a co-star?

3:30 in the vid.
