Keeper Rogerio Ceni Keeps on Scoring

By: Bob | October 29th, 2007

There is something compelling about watching players doing something they aren’t supposed to do. Seeing John Terry fill in as an emergency keeper is an example. Watching just about any game involving Sao Paulo keeper Rogerio Ceni is another. The all-time leading goalkeeper goalscorer added to his total this weekend in a match in which he slotted home a nice free kick, missed a penalty kick and made a pair of big saves in Sao Paulo’s 2-1 victory over Sport Recife. The goal was Ceni’s sixth this season and 77th of his career. I can think of a few strikers who would like those numbers.
