Lapland Captures Viva World Cup with 24-1 Victory

vivaworldcup.jpgThe Viva World Cup for countries that don’t exist is in the history books and what a historic tournament it turned out to be for the brothas from Lapland. Erik Lamøy scored 4 goals and Tom Høgli and Jonas Johansen chipped in with 3 each to help Lapland squeak by Monaco 24-1 in the final. Lapland dominated the tournament, defeating Monaco 7-0 in an earlier encounter and winning 3-0 over a Southern Cameroons side that had to forfeit because they couldn’t get visas to take part in the fun. The host country Occitania lost to Monaco and knew better than to even step onto the pitch with Lapland. In other non-country tournament action, Northern Cyprus defeated Crimea by the modest score of 3-1 to capture the Elf Cup.
