Leeds Leads the Way with Most Hooligan Banning Orders
By: Bob | October 24th, 2006
They might have fallen on hard times on the pitch, but Leeds has come out on top as the club in England with the most fans banned from attending matches. Twenty new hooligans have pushed Leeds to the prime position with a total of 115 fans banned this season.
Portsmouth comes in second with 110 on the banned list while last year’s champions, Cardiff City, have seen their numbers fall from 152 to 109. Stoke City (108) and Manchester United (106) round out the top 5.
On a positive note – unless you happen to be in the hooligan action figure business – there is a 7% increase in people banned from last season, while football-related violence dipped by 7% for the third straight year.
