Leo Messi is Taking This New Maradona Stuff Far Too Seriously

By: Daryl | June 9th, 2007

We know he’s supposed to be the new Maradona, and he’s even replicated El Diego’s magic against England at the 1986 World Cup. But today Messi singlehandedly (awful pun intended) Maradona’s not so glorious moment from the same game, scoring for Barcelona with a handball and – just as incredibly as in 1986 – getting away with it.

The handball thing is in Argentina's blood. I'm surprised that FIFA didn't do anything about that afterward. This thing keep coming back in such important game. It's good that the way it turns out make no different. I think he should be suspended for a few games.

The CL handball was intentional. Just watch that punk Inzaghi move into the path of the ball and lead with his shoulder.

Anyway, I am Shocked! Shocked! that an Argentine would not only knowingly cheat but also pretend that he had done nothing wrong. What next? Italians diving for penalties?

The CL so-called "handball" was not intentional.

Yeah that Champions league final was bogus. I love in the video how the Espanyol keeper keeps grabbing the referees arm to keep the card inside his shirt. Did the ref book the whole team?

Next thing he needs is a big line of coke ;)
  • I guess you didn't get the memo, but after the Champions League final, handballs are legal.

Thank God Espanyol tied it back up and Madrid did as well or we'd have another tainted champion on our heads.
