Little Barnsley Takes Out Liverpool in the FA Cup
By: Laurie | February 16th, 2008
Would you believe I actually walked away from this game as it headed into its three minutes of stoppage time, assuming it would end in the 1-1 draw that was showing on the scoreboard at that moment?
Silly me.
Barnsley’s Brian Howard (pictured) delivered the goods with a fantastic strike in stoppage time for the Championship team, knocking a frustrated, struggling Liverpool out of the FA Cup. 1-2 Barnsley.
From our Liverpool Offside:
This is what happens when you try to focus on cups instead of the league and then underestimate your opponent. Not to take anything from Barnsley, who had excellent defending and a keeper that I think was actually Superman, but Rafa didn’t field a serious team against them. No Reina, no Torres, no Mascherano, Gerrard on the bench–ridiculous.

and Rafa in his usual mood said ” We created more chances and we deserved to win.”
LOL LOL LOL
Best result of the day considering Rafa had said ‘we are going for the FA Cup and the CL.” CL is all u got son, and it shows the contempt of a manager showing disrespect for the greatest domestic cup competition in the world!!
