Lucky garlic surely will do the trick for Celta Vigo

garlic.jpgWith their team a mere point above the relegation zone in Spain’s La Liga and with just one home win at their Balaidos stadium this season, you can’t blame Celta Vigo for pulling out all the stops to improve their luck. The club has called on its fans to rally together and to put all of their superstitious might behind the team.

From the Celta Vigo official Web site:

“Bring your garlic, holy water, rabbit’s foot or even a whole rabbit to the club offices between March 19 and April 1 and leave it there until after the match against Real Madrid.

“Let’s see if together it can bring us some luck at Balaidos.”

Now there is a change of pace. A team encouraging its fans to bring vegetables to the stadium. While they are at it, why not stick some pins in Real Madrid voodoo dolls and curse their opponents with a severed goat’s head.
