Luton Town boss Mike Newell is a card carrying sexist

By: Bob | November 13th, 2006

female-referee.jpgWe learned this weekend that Luton Town manager Mike Newell longs for the simple days when gender roles were more clearly defined and blown calls could only be made by people with testicles. Newell showed his true colors following his team’s 3-2 loss at home against QPR. He was just a wee bit upset with assistant referee Amy Rayner, who not only failed to award his team a critical penalty, but also forgot to bake cookies and bring milk to the match.

She should not be here. I know that sounds sexist, but I am sexist, so I am not going to be anything other than that. We have a problem in this country with political correctness, and bringing women into the game is not the way to improve refereeing and officialdom. It is absolutely beyond belief. When do we reach a stage when all officials are women, because then we are in trouble?

It is bad enough with the incapable referees and linesmen we have, but if you start bringing in women, you have big problems. This is Championship football. This is not park football, so what are women doing here? It is tokenism, for the politically correct idiots.

Consider me a politically correct idiot then because I see no reason why breasts inhibit a person from being just as good or as bad as the next referee.

Newell has since issued a half apology, making sure to include the fact that, “I very rarely say things I don’t mean.”

He forgot to mention that girls are bad at math and can't be trusted to be professional during "that time of the month." You know he was thinking it, though. Quite the charmer.

goddamn it, what a douche bag
one of the most experienced lines(wo)men in france is a woman, and she missed the world cup by a tiny bit. she does the big games, and she has earned much respect throughout the years. that idiot should be fined a whole lot, and suspended.
