Mad Jens Has A Typical Mad Jens Weekend

[101 Great Goals]

The decision making abilities of Mad Jens took a predictable hit this weekend, as the older he gets the crazier his adventures.

On the pitch against Cologne it was a typical adventure of Lehmann-esque proportions, as evidenced above. Jens, using his everyday skills of logic, decided bolting 40 yards from his net toward the touchline to clear a ball was a smart idea. It wasn’t. Not quite the game-deciding goal, but worsening the scoreline to 2-0 against struggling Koln did not help.

After this game Jens decided he needed a few lagers in order to ease his pain – or to help a charity, whichever – and popped on over to Oktoberfest in Munich. This, for some reason, did not sit well with the Stuttgart suits, and they’ve suspended Jens for a game despite his obvious need for alcoholic consolation.

Now a question: why was Jens suspended for attending an event on his own time? Unless, of course, the whole story hasn’t been told (such as he wasn’t yet on his own time or there is no beverage consumption before a midweek fixture or that players with the sober decision making history of Jens are not allowed to consume any alcohol whatsoever). Then it’d make some sense. But as it stands now, it’s a little bit curious.

Then again, maybe there’s a simple explanation shining a bit of light on both incidents: he went before the game, not after. Now it all makes perfect sense.
