ManU Wins Club World Cup

By: chris | December 21st, 2008

You’re shocked, I know. Though to be fair to LDU Quito, it was only a 1-0 score and it took until the 73rd minute for the red devils to break through. So the Ecuadorians at least put up a bit of a fight. But in the end, as expected, it was ManU through Wayne Rooney - despite being out late into the night before the game - who got the winner.

What I dont understand is how the previous champions weren’t involved at all in this tournament?
And how can it be called a world cup with 7 teams?

Can we have a moment to reflect now on the idea that Aboutreika should have been in competition for the Ballon d’Or and that Al-Ahly were deserving of a better berth?

Shazback, they lost to the fourth placed team. Fifth place sounds about right for them, then.
