Michael Bradley Set to Leave Heerenveen?
By: Laurie | January 17th, 2008
Michael Bradley, son of US Coach Bob and the great hope of the US National Team, will probably be leaving Holland this summer for a bigger pond (and presumably more money.) The twenty-year-old, who scored his first goal for the senior team over the summer in the Gold Cup, is apparently not interested in signing a new contract with current team Heerenveen, so the team is probably going to get what they can for him by selling him this summer, before his contract expires.
“Michael is ambitious and wants to broaden his horizons,” technical director Yme Kuiper told Voetbal International magazine. “If we want to get any money for him, we must sell him in the summer.”
The team rumored to be at the head of the line is Hamburg in the German Bundesliga.
Bradley made big headlines last month when he scored a hat trick for Heerenveen. (Funny how one little hat trick can set tongues to wagging and significantlly up your desirability.) He was also named 2007 US Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year.
Here’s a video of Michael in action:

One little hat-trick? Michael Bradley has 12 or 13 goals for Heerenveen this year. That’s pretty good for a DM.

True, Heath. But it was the hat trick that got all the press.
