Michael Jordan meets Ronaldinho, the ‘Michael Jordan of Soccer’

By: Bob | October 23rd, 2006

mj-and-ronaldinho.jpgPerhaps they talked about the weather in Spain or maybe they discussed why one of the NBA’a all time greats would wear such an ugly shirt in public. Michael Jordan and Barcelona’s Ronaldinho got together today to have a little powwow, undoubtedly organized by the people who put the Swoosh on our shoes and the money in their bank accounts. Ahead of the meeting, Jordan had this to say about Ronaldinho:

“In this European tour I am going to see some soccer and hope to see him play,” said Jordan. “Possibly I’ll see the Madrid-Barca game today.

“I have read that he is the Michael Jordan of soccer and that talk has one meaning in this sport: that he plays with passion, is creative and the public want to be like him. I have a desire to get to know him.”

Isn’t it interesting that all of a sudden there is mad love between NBA players and European soccer stars?

I hope for Ronaldinho’s sake that MJ didn’t go to yesterday’s el Clasico. Not that Ronaldinho isn’t a great player, I just don’t think yesterday’s performance supported a contention that he’s the ‘Michael Jordan of soccer.’

I glad to see from that picture that he successfully removed Emerson from his back, though.

LOL. My point entirely. Just an opportunity to be seen. I saw an attempt by Chelsea TV to interview Mr Dog and his look of contempt was disgusting!

Jordan probably laid a few grand on Barca to win that game in between jaunts to the racetrack and casino.
