This is me, loving Ricardo Clark. His blast to the little worm Ruiz is the play of the year, bar none. Let's hope MLS takes into account how much Ruiz had it coming when they hand out punishments.

I've been YouTubing Lovejoy's show all summer. I just love it, and every soccer fan (even the standard American EPL-snob soccer fans) I've shown it to love it as well. Everyone's reaction seems to come in more or less the same waves:
1) This show is hilarious, and it's hilarious that the Brits make an MLS show just because Beckham came over here...
2) Hey, they actually show some legit highlights on this show... the MLS has moments of really good soccer...
3) Wait a second, why is the best MLS highlights show only in the UK?

Everything about the show is spot-on from the tongue-in-cheek humor to showing every single goal... and there's also something special about using the original commentating in the highlights, it feels more organic - for as good as the SportsCenter storytelling highlights are, somehow hearing the game as it was announced makes it feel almost live, even though you're cutting out all the boring parts.

USA's David Beckham's Soccer USA shouldn't even exist - the MLB has Baseball Tonight, not friggin Alex Rodriquez Baseball America. That's ridiculous. It's a clever idea for a cheeky british show, but you just can't do that over here. We need a weekly MLS highlight show airing on ESPN.

It was not Fred who scored the goal off the the Christian Gomez crossbar shot, but rather the leading goalscorer in MLS, Luciano Emilio.

For me, its the glaring differences between Around The Horn (snoozefest) and Fighting Talk (hilarious). I'd absolutely love for Lovejoy and the rest of the gang to bring this show to US television, but much like soccer itself, its only going to get a niche audience AND a niche audience within the already niche audience that is the average soccer supporter in the US. A MLS highlight show is a great idea (and isn't there one already on Gol tv?) but for a sport trying real hard to be taken seriously in an already saturated sports market, I guess a MLS sanctioned show that pokes fun at some of the sillier aspects of the league might confuse more people than entertain/interest them. At the end of the day, I think its unfortunate because Lovejoy's take on the league just endears me to it more.

My favorite show!!! Funnier than Pinkham's (is her's even meant to be?) while a lot more informative about MLS. Lovejoy's presentation is affectionate and anything but demeaning -- he's fun but he takes his football seriously. However, I have to admit my favorite bit is the weekly lesson in how to speak U.S. commentator ;-) .

The first nine episodes are probably still on youtube as well, they usually show up the day after the show airs.
