Nani is Flippin’ Brilliant

By: Daryl | June 2nd, 2007

One of Manchester United’s new wonderkids gave us a nice little preview today, scoring the opening goal in Portugals’ 2-1 win over Belgium.

Not only was this a great goal by Nani (the boy with the old ladies nickname) but the celebration was absolutely incredible. It’s not just a flip, it’s a double flip with some sort of twisty turny showboating thrown in for good measure. Oh, to be young and impossibly limber.

So yeah, we definitely need a name for that move. Is it some sort of sow-cow? I don't know what a sow-cow is, but whenever people do weird flips, I call it a sow-cow, so that's all I've got.
  • Nani needs space to create. Awesome goal, love the player, but the Premier League has defenders that will be on top of him so fast. I like the Anderson move, but Nani will probably take some time to develop and really get used to the speed of the league.
