Newest Gay Icon? Bordeaux’s Yoann Gourcuff

By: Laurie | December 5th, 2008

Cristiano Ronaldo, step aside. There’s a new gay icon in town.

The French magazine TĂȘtu has named Bordeaux’s Yoann Gourcuff its latest “Bomb of the Month.”

Rough translation from RMC.fr:

The December issue of TĂȘtu has named Yoann Gourcuff its “bomb of the month.” The monthly gay magazine talks about the “doe eyes, rebellious locks, and tapering thighs” of the Girondins’ and France National Team’s newest #10. A check with the gay community also indicates that in Breton, “Gourcuff” … means “sweet man.”* When it comes to the “Bomb of the Month” title, Gourcuff succeeds Cristiano Ronaldo.

The only thing I would like to add to this is that, for the record, Yoann Gourcuff has never, not even once, set off my finely-honed gaydar. But I think that’s completely irrelevant here.

For more photos of the newest icon, check out the HABs blog here. And here. (Oh, go ahead. You know you want to.)

EXTRA!! EXTRA!! HOT OFF THE PRESSES!! And don’t forget to check out these Yoann-strips-to-his-underwear photos from Friday’s Bordeaux-Valenciennes game. (Or…um…yeah. I’m told that’s what they are. I, of course, averted my eyes.)

(Thanks, Jennifer!)

And I’m just going to go ahead and make the first comment right now, because this is the type of post where nobody wants to be the commenting trailblazer.

Hell, I’m a straight guy and I’ll admit to being attracted to Gourcuff.

I really really hate learning French – all those stupid silent letters. Still, he may make me take it up again… But then, there is always the chance that he will go back to Milan. Italian is sooooo much easier!

I’m going to start a petition to keep him at Bordeaux forever. And ever. I’ll even send you my life savings to keep him Triaud! *begs*

Well, I think I just saw something (but it was in that rag goal.com) about how he does not like Milan. I think he would rather stay at Bordeaux. I would like him too, also.
