or we could call them all back and pay our soccer stars as much as other soccer stars.

NMY, I got it from the other post link. This one. Possibly my bad for taking it as gospel, but I think everything is speculation at this point. My guess is that he'll stay in Europe for at least a couple more years. But it is one of the more interesting story lines in MLS recently.

That’s the thing. You saw highlights when he was 14. The kid peaked. I don’t understand why people can’t grasp that he’s not going to be the savior he was projected to be. He is not that good.

Shadow, the reason I loved the Altidore goal was because it showcased how much brute strength this kid has. I’m watching as it’s happening and thinking, “Wow. How strong to you have to be to physically turn a world-class defender like that?” It was pure brute force, followed by a class finish.

He needs to find a team which knows how to harness that strength, and which can help him develop in areas where he’s not so strong.

shadow i agree. Altidore is one of my favorite players, and I watched every game he played as a red bull. He isnt a big bulky target man that uses his body, he is a flairy striker that likes to play 1-2’s. We need to get a brochure for Jozy that says how to play him the right way.

adu is just a dissapointment…i remember when his highlights were on sportscenter every time he played…what happened???…mayb all the pressure is too much for him…but i hope he can get it together and bring his talent out

Jozy Altidore is better than Matt Derbyshire. No question about it. But I agree, it makes their move for Alti odd (being that they signed Derbs to a permanent deal). It almost seems inevitable that Jozy will sit for most of the time. Hopefully he cracks the starting lineup though, would be nice to see him bulging the olde onion bag in the CL.
