Now it is Ronaldinho’s Turn to be Labeled ‘Fat’
By: Bob | February 23rd, 2007
Maybe it is time to call him Ronaldinho no more. The “Little Ronaldo” is under fire in the Spanish media after pictures following Wednesday’s Champions League match between Barcelona and Liverpool showed the Barca star without his shirt and with a supposedly new layer of fat around his midsection. This has led to speculation that Ronaldinho is following his countryman Ronaldo’s lead by becoming a fat slob who can hardly move off the couch and who will need a forklift to get out of bed in the coming weeks. Clearly the picture to the left shows that to be the case.
What do his Barcelona teammates think about Ronaldinho’s girth?
“As long as he plays well I don’t think there is a problem with his weight,” team mate Javier Saviola replied when asked about the issue in a news conference on Friday. “You will have to ask the medical staff about it as I’m only his team mate and I am not with him when he is eating his meals. If they think he is not right, then they will make him train more.”
“He has scored 16 goals in the league this season so there is no reason to complain about his level of performance,” said Lionel Messi.
The irony in all this is that the same journalists who type up their stories calling players fat in between bites of bratwurst would probably kill to be in as good of shape as Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Frank Lampard. Who cares if these guys carry a few extra pounds as long as they deliver on the pitch? It is hard to argue that Ronaldinho isn’t still one of the best players in the world. Why force the man into living on chewing gum and water so that he looks fitter without a shirt on?
Speaking of which, time for me to eat my third lunch of the day so I can have the energy to sit in my computer chair for another ten hours today. Thank God these abs of steel come naturally…

He played well yesterday but he is still too fat. I know a person’s body change as one gets older but that’s not the case with Ronaldinho I think the World Cup failure has gotten to him and he is little burnt out. Have you seen Ronaldo lately all the fat has gone and he is beggining to look like the Ronaldo of old. We will see

he has got bigger but it aint neccassarily fat, he has probably bulked up a bit to stop people shurggin him off the ball so easy. i bet if he tenced his muscles in that photo instead of being relaxed he’d still be ripped
