Offside Rewind: Any Raúl Will Do

By: Daryl | October 16th, 2009

Who’s in charge of images at ESPN Soccernet? First they got confused about Oguchi Onyewu, and now they can’t identify Real Madrid legend Raúl either? The image above (from Raúl’s stats page here) appears to be Real’s other Raúl, Albiol rather than González Blanco. Thanks to John for pointing that out to us via tips[at]theoffside[dot]com.

Anyway… here are seven other links from The Offside and WorldCupBlog over the past week:

That’s all for the week. Thanks to everyone who has read and commented. Laurie will be along to keep us entertained this weekend.

ESPN's stats keepers outside of the EPL are woefully incomplete and error prone. Anyone know how I could send them an email to explain how much the suck and how I would gladly do their job for them. I wouldnt mind being paid to watch football and pick out faces.

On Soccernet the other day I was stunned to see that Inter's marauding right back had scored twice for Brazil's U20's. And it linked directly to the better known Maicon's profile. Shoddy work by espn, but then again, maybe the Brazilians just need to start working some new names into the equation.
