One Famous Footballer, Twenty WAG Hopefuls
By: Bob | March 8th, 2007
As far as reality television shows go this one sounds like a nasty auto accident that we will try to avoid seeing but inevitably will turn and stare in fascination. I Want To Be A WAG will hit the British airways in August. The premise of the show isn’t new, but the fact that it will feature a real breathing footballer who is willing to stoop so low as to appear on television looking for a WAG (Wife and Girlfriend) is delightfully awful.
Here’s how I Want To Be A WAG will work:
Twenty young hopefuls will take daily lessons from three real-life WAGs before dating the international striker. After the footballer has spent time with all of the girls, he will pick a winner to propose to.
Presumably those daily lessons will touch upon the high cost of being a WAG.
And who could that international striker possibly be?
A spokesperson for the show (being produced by North One for MTV in the UK) said: “The footballer is very famous and is a real catch. He is dying to meet a beautiful, sexy woman to be his perfect wife. He won’t be revealed until the day before filming starts. He is looking for the next Victoria Beckham or Coleen McLoughlin. After just eight weeks he will propose to one lucky girl.”
Appearing on a reality television show where he can have his pick of superficial women. He must be a real catch indeed.
Any guesses who this international striker and real catch might be?
