Paul Ince Assumes the Role of Ghostbuster
By: Bob | October 24th, 2006
After turning down an offer from a ghostbuster to rid their club of the evils that have led to a winless start this season, English Division Two side Macclesfield Town FC have hired a ghost from the past to help lead the Silkmen to less scary fortunes.
Paul Ince is the new skipper of the haunted club. Yes, it is the same Paul Ince who played 206 matches for Manchester United and who made 53 international appearances for mother England and who played for West Ham, Liverpool, Inter Milan and Wolverhampton among others. The man dubbed the ‘Guvnor’ has been signed as a player-coach, but he won’t be eligible to lace them up until January which is probably about the same time Macclesfield will be officially relegated.
“The wife’s been nagging me for the last few months, saying ‘get out of the house’,” said Ince. “I didn’t envisage it’d happen this quickly. She’s happy so I’m happy and I’m looking forward to it.”
He is a smart man to not argue with the wife, but perhaps it would have been wiser to pick up a new hobby like golf or origami instead of accepting what surely will be a daunting challenge for a first coaching gig.

Oops Bob,
Now near end of March and Macclesfield NOT yet relegated as you so surely predicted. Paul Ince was a fighter with Man U and others for many years. oh ye of little faith.
Macc will not go down this year - be assured.Best wishes
