Photo: Jean Claude van Damme Referees In Spain

GolTV is on in the background and the La Liga recap is running. The weekend’s fixture between Recreativo and Numancia comes on and, during one of my glances up, I see to my amazement that Jean Claude van Damme is now refereeing in La Liga. Probably a smart career move since he hasn’t put out a decent movie since…well…ever. (Alright, Bloodsport – but I’d never admit to that in a court of law.)

Actually his name is Alfonso Pérez Burrull and I’m not the only one to mistake the two, as you can see. Quite the resemblance, isn’t it? (Except for the muscles/leprechaun height/bad acting.)
