Photo of the Day: The Life of Peter Crouch

I generally don’t like to give two photo posts back to back, but it’s only Chris and me this week, and he just Blackberry’d me to say that he had just watched a utility truck snip his cable and drive away. Thank you, utility company, for leaving me the only Offside blogger with internet access.

So I thought I’d share this photo of England player Peter Crouch as a stopgap, because we all need the occasional reminder that Life is Truly. Not. Fair. But it is good to know that Crouch himself recognizes his good fortune. Awhile back, when he was asked what he would be if not a footballer, he replied, “A virgin.”

(And, since I wanted to get that quote precisely right, my google search history now contains the phrase, “Peter Crouch virgin.” This gives me yet another reason to hope that I never do anything that would require the police or Child Protective Services to search my hard drive.)

But I digress. This photo does provide a nice segue into my next, which will be about transfer rumors. I know I’ve said I didn’t want to write about them, but it’s July. Resistance is futile.
