Ragnar Sigurdsson Knows No Range

Shame on you if you’re not up on your Allsvenskan. The Swedish league kicked off last weekend and in just its second week, they’ve already got what will likely be the goal of the season.

As if being thumped 4-0 by halftime wasn’t enough, Djurgardens were simply waiting for the final whistle to end their misery in the 84th minute when Ragnar Sigurdsson, a 22yo Icelandic defender primed to be a star in one of Europe’s big leagues before long, gave IFK Goteborg a 5th from inside his own half. I’m sure rubbing actual salt in a wound would’ve been more pleasurable for Durgardens’ keeper.

  • What does Grafite's goal have to do with the Allsvenskan?
  • What you said is true Mike but that shot had pace and perfect precision. It wasn't just a lob, it was basically hit with emphasis into the goal.
  • I believe that the goal Grafite scored against Bayern Munich is still in the lead for goal of the year...
