Rambo Okan: The Superfan Strikes Again.

[101 Great Goals]

Rambo Okan isn’t what you’d call a card-carrying member of the “prawn-sandwich brigade”. He’s probably what you’d call “clinically insane” (not that the two need be mutually exclusive). The madman is a Fenerbahce superfan who’s known for his bizarre pitch invasions, some which result in his barnacle-like attachment to the leg of one of his beloved. This weekend, Rambo made his return, bounding onto the pitch and faking to the right before clinging to Emre’s left peg, just to let us know…with Emre, it’s all about the left peg.

His antics are famous in the Fener world and almost revered, though from a cursory look, there aren’t a great deal of his Fenerbahce brothers who champion him as the beacon of sanity. And it also appears his moustache is as identifiable as his actions, the hallmark of any truly great man.

The internet is riddled with stuff on him, a major achievement in itself for a mere fan, but it’s largely in Turkish and Google Translate Turkish is still looking up at the alpha phase, apparently. But fortunately for us, YouTube needs no translation, and his love for Fenerbahce is on display well and good for the world to see, regardless of your Turkish knowledge.

And all of it is worth a watch from anywhere which isn’t Rambo’s jail cell.

i knew this was going to be on the offside as soon as i saw it live
  • Ah yes the Fener rambo/gorilla. After Graeme Souness famously planted a Galatasaray flag in the middle of the pitch Fener's stadium, Rambo Okan snuck into Galatasaray's stadium and waitied for the moment to strike. He ran to the middle of the pitch, planted a 12 inch Fener flag, and lunged at security personnel with a switchblade.

Little is known about the man himself, being banned in almost all (including Fener's) stadiums in Turkey, other than that he must be clinically insane. They say that when people start to doubt his existence, he strikes.

That's actually pretty sweet, in a creepy way. Or creepy, in a sweet way. Hmm . . .
  • Oh wow. That's not creepy at all :P .
