I had a dream where I was running late. I had to get to the Emirates, because I was supposed to play, and it was a big deal because I was the first female professional player in the world. But I was running late and I got to the stadium and I kept wandering around because I couldn’t find the player’s entrance so I was walking around the stairs and entrance in my kit and the security guards didn’t believe that I was a player, so they wouldn’t give me directions. But then I found my way and once I got there, Arsene Wenger lectured me about responsibility. Since I was a role model now and everything.

It was very odd. Most of my football-related dreams are, and this is going to sound really lame, me reading game reports on the Internet. They usually happen when there’s a game I’m worried about in the morning, and I dream I’m reading the match report. It always makes me feel kind of lame in the morning, because I’m dreaming about the Internet.

My dreams about my team always involve me becoming the coach of th team and managing to bring us to the Champions League final that we invariably lose to a much bigger team on a referee error at wembley Stadium. I remember Joao havelange (don’t ask, he’s constantly in those) tapping me on the shoulder and saying “Don’t worry, you deserved it more than they did”. Than the players from the other team give us their medals as in the movie best of the best. It’s always how it happens.

Martha, I think your constant posting about Zlatan has started invading my subconscious. Nowadays, I’m always keeping an eye out for Zlatan news though in general, I don’t follow Inter or even Serie A.

Also, I might have mentioned this on your France blog Laurie, but my recent “team dream” was of me and Thierry Henry hanging out, and then we played basketball. He then gave me a free ticket to a France game, and I told him how he was Karim Benzema’s idol. Because, you know, Karim and I are BFFs.

Mine involved wedding bells and Kim Kallstrom, and naturally Zlatan was his best man, who looked halfway decent in a tux. You can’t imagine how crushed I was to discover that in reality, Kim married some hot blond Swede this past summer.

There’s a player on my beloved Caley Thistle named Ian Black, and I always liked him not only because of having the name in common, but also because he’s a relatively short guy and I respect little guys that can compete with the giraffes. Anyway, the first time I actually saw him play live, he was stuck between these massive midfielders (for Hearts, I want to say) and the guy just looked tiny. That night, I had really weird dreams about a much, much shorter Ian Black (munchkin size at best) running after me trying to kick me in the shins. It was actually much scarier than it sounds.

I hardly remember any of my dreams, but I wake up all the time with Timbers chants in my head, so I assume I do dream about them. Once I woke up singing (to the tune of “Farmer in the Dell”), “Cleats up on Levesque, Cleats up on Levesque, YOU DIRTY BASTARD! Cleats up on Levesque!” True story.
