Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon is not a Terrorist
By: Bob | September 26th, 2007
You can hardly blame some in the United States for holding Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon responsible for the terror he has inflicted on the land. By letting David Beckham walk away to Hollywood, he’s helped to fill our newspapers and television screens with stories that make brave men want to cower in an undisclosed location. He helped to unleash the dirty bomb that is Posh. Is there little wonder that when Calderon tried to enter the United States earlier this week he was detained by homeland security and questioned by the FBI?
The security officials, who had Calderon confused with someone on the suspicious persons list, evidently weren’t Real Madrid fans.
“They acted appropriately,” he explained. “The only bad thing that happened was they refused to listen to me.
“Of course, I told them a thousand times I wasn’t the person they were looking for. I told them I was president of Real Madrid, but they wouldn’t listen.”
Way to go, homeland security. We’d all hate for a president of a world famous soccer club to be walking around in our midst. He might even talk about soccer and work on deals to promote the game in the country. Clearly the terrorists would win if that were the case.
