Refs Get Some Egyptian Brotherly Love

By: chris | December 29th, 2008

You’re got twin brothers. One’s the coach for Egyptian club El-Masry, the other is the assistant. First brother is Hossam Hassan, Egyptian national team legend. He’s sent off for disputing the referee’s calls, thus enters his brother Ibrahim. Ibrahim, as any brother of the world’s most capped player ever would, tries to carve his own niche by trumping his brother’s actions. Shoving the fourth official in the face and causing on-pitch pandemonium certainly wins this battle of sibling rivalry.

Putting one’s hands on the ref is bad and all that, but he was probably just as guilty for showing up at the game like he’d just come from the Gap. Both in terms of professionalism and choice in fashion.
