Report Says Notts County Most Stressful Football Club to Support in England

If you support a club that has sacked 35 manages since 1945, switched divisions a record 29 times and escaped being dropped from the Football League on the last day of last season there is more than enough reason for your nerves to be frayed and the stress level in your life to be off the charts. A new study of the 92 football league clubs in England has revealed that the team with all those dubious accomplishments, Notts County, is the most stress-inducing club for fans to support.

The report looked at a number of factors that cause fans anxiety like manager sackings, relegations, losing late in games, screwed up kits and having your stadium run out of beer (ok, that is merely a stressor for me), to calculate the various stress levels for fans of all the clubs.

Portsmouth has the most stressed fans in the Premier League. Now you can understand why the Pompey coffin business is booming. Manchester City and Watford are also high on the list.

Meanwhile, Liverpool fans will live forever with their stress-free lives, while fans of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are also so relaxed that they would fall asleep on a roller coaster.

Based on the stress ranking system, England’s Top 10 most stress-inducing clubs are:
