It seems like whenever some celebrity, athlete, whatever commits some atrocious act you hear them use the words “mistake” and “put it all behind me.” To Rico’s credit, he did not use “mistake” but he did use the latter. Both of these terms reek of a lack of taking complete responsibility for one’s actions. To me the phrase says “Ya, ya, I did it but don’t want to deal with the repercussions any more so just drop it and stop whining about it already.”
