Right into the Fray for Banega

Valencia’s new arrival Ever Banega is practically just off the plane, but he’s already in training, and is in the squad for the club’s midweek Copa del Rey match against Real Betis. Granted, nine players are out with injuries (or lawsuits, or sackings) so there’s a lot of room for new bodies, but it’s been a whirlwind for the 19-year-old since his signing barely a week ago. Plus, there’s the new issue of him pulling an Ashley Young, and flashing his bits around on a webcam. Oops.
The Scandalous!Video is from last summer and is much less impressive than Young’s, since it’s totally silent and, apart from the money shot, consists of five-plus minutes of the unmoving top 2/3 of Banega’s head, and his moody eyebrows. More than anything else, it’s depressing, and looks just like what it is: A lonely, bored kid sitting in a hotel room.
Ok, there are about four seconds in it that are definitely not safe for work, but at this point the club and its supporters are probably desperate for a vaguely entertaining scandal that doesn’t involved captains being sacked. It’s unlikely anyone will care, particularly if the kid starts scoring goals, and Valencia actually win some matches.
