R.I.P. Hrvoje Ćustić
By: chris | April 3rd, 2008
Unfortunately sport can be as tragic and devastating as it is wonderful and uplifting. Hrvoje Custic, a winger from Croatian club Zadar, died on Thursday after going head first into a concrete wall during a league game last weekend. He was just 24 years old. A sad occasion is made even sadder in that this could have been avoided, as the concrete wall was just two meters from the touchline. A matter surely due for reflection another day, but now is only a time for mourning.
Rest in peace.

That’s horrible. As you said, down the road, I hope changes can be made to prevent this from happening again, but that’s for later.

Man - that is so sad - especially as it could have been prevented. Why are things always noticed after something bad happens?!
