BUT...because of the television rights wars going on in Spain right now, the schedules for the matches have constantly changed, sometimes changing dates a couple of days before the match. Since Real Madrid was playing a Wednesday Champions League match, last year that would have meant them playing a Sunday La Liga match, with Barcelona and their Tuesday CL match playing in La Liga the Saturday before. So it's not really that much of a stretch of the imagination to believe he got the day wrong. But all he had to do was have his agent or one of his other flunkies call the club, so it's still not that credible.
