‘Ronaldo’ and ‘Fastest’ used in the same Sentence
By: Bob | March 28th, 2007
While the football loving world is focused on international action what can a club do to try to attract attention? It can post unbelievable stories to its Web site of course. According to the official AC Milan site Ronaldo was the fastest player in the 30-meter drills at the team’s training on Tuesday. Maybe they were running downhill. Isn’t there some kind of physics rule about the largest object moving the fastest down a slope? The site fails to mention that several players, presumable those with two able legs, were away on international duties. And yes I am aware that Ronaldo has been playing fairly well for Milan since his transfer. I’m happy that all his speed is once again paying off.

Let’s not forget that at thirty, Ronaldo is pretty young compared to some of the dessicated corpses rotting on the Milan squad. Maldini, Costacurta, Fiori, etc. So he probably won because he didn’t have to worry about his Jazzy scooter stalling out halfway to the finish line.

Injuries in many cases dont include a loss of speed. This is true for Ronaldo. After returning from basically 4 years of injury he was confirmed as Madrids fastest player over 40m. Does that mean that Madrid is slow too? And I wouldn’t call Pato & co old either…
