Ronaldo Fights Flopping on The Simpsons
By: Bob | April 23rd, 2007AC Milan and Brazil striker Ronaldo joined the long list of celebrities who have made an appearance on The Simpsons on Sunday night. The clip above, which unfortunately also includes an entirely unfunny bit about Marge being stuck in an online video game, features Homer as a referee at one of Lisa’s soccer games. Just when she is about to take a page out of the flopping footballers’ playbook along comes Ronaldo to restore order to the Beautiful Game. It is not the funniest episode but it has a few good lines. I wonder if that voice is really Ronaldo’s. Has anyone ever heard him speak English?

Frankly, the whole episode was painfully unfunny.

Maybe not the best Simpsons, but I do think that the Virgin Mary could kick Mr. Rogers’ butt in the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.
(And this would make sense if you’d watched the entire episode.)

It is too bad The Simpsons have jumped the shark. If they did something with Ronaldo a few years back it probably would have been hilarious.

In the second minute when Homer said “I watched hours and hours of soccer. I almost saw a goal!…” lol, that really tickled my nerve.

But there were so many ads for Spanish cellphones!
I found that hilarious, personally.

I agree that the Spanish cellphone thing was hilarious, as was “Another family broken up by Ronaldo … yes!”

in the last scene, Ronaldo is wearing a Brazil jersey while he is off to the side, but then we he comes to speak, it is Real(right? Well main this is it’s completely different from Brazil). Interesting.

That was one of the best eps in YEARS, in my opinion. A great one if you enjoy soccer AND MMORPGs. If not, I can see why all the apathy.
