Roy Makaay Scores the Fastest Goal in Champions League history
By: Bob | March 7th, 2007If you blinked you might have missed it. All it took was 10 seconds for Bayern Munich’s Roy Makaay to score against Real Madrid, breaking the previous record for fastest Champions League goal held by Arsenal’s Gilberto. The play inspires almost as much pity for Madrid’s Roberto Carlos than it does admiration for Makaay. Remember when Roberto Carlos was one of the best in the world? That seems like ancient times. He’d probably get beat if he played at this level too.
