Sevilla Accuse Tottenham of Treachery
By: Bob | October 30th, 2007
Remember that book that came out a few years back that proclaimed everything you need to know in life you learned in kindergarten? The premise being that the basic lessons in life are learned at an early age. I am often reminded of this notion when I read the words of people involved in professional sports. They often seem to be re-living their experiences from their early childhood.
Today’s example comes from Sevilla. They are displeased with Tottenham because Spurs took away their toy. In this case the toy was manager Juande Ramos who was reportedly approached by Tottenham before the season even began. Instead of getting their revenge by slugging Tottenham on the playground, the club’s president Jose Maria Del Nido vows to make them pay in the courtroom.
‘I can assure you that we at Sevilla will pour all of our energy and all of our force into making sure that Tottenham pay the consequences of this situation, a situation that they have illegitimately provoked,’ Del Nido said in comments reported by the Guardian.
‘We will do everything in our power and use all the means at our disposal to make sure of that.
‘Here in Spain, we’re not used to treachery existing between clubs. Nowhere in European football has something like this happened before with the season under way. I will leave it for Spurs and their fans to take a look at themselves and define their behaviour.’
Del Nido also warned Tottenham not to touch Daniel Alves, Fredi Kanoute, or his Legos.

If Sevilla are so upset about the whole thing they could have just tried to resign Ramos during the summer… or the summer before… or after the initial overture from Spurs a month ago… or, well, you get the point. Juande was a wanted man, Spurs wanted him and jumped….twice!
